Some useful tips for the ladies which I gathered from useful sources…

You might not be able to pamper yourself in a salon due to the following reasons : may be your a busy bee , or may be out of tight budget or you just ignore people sniggering at your appearance… whatever it may be… You can give a shot at a few of these easy to do things free of cost at home which might also not take much of your time…

Have you noticed your skin to be rough and covered in oil and grime?

Make sure you make a paste of  either bengal gram flour of moong dal flour(or both) with honey and add sugar towards the end so that the paste becomes a  scrub.. if possible add a hint of turmeric powder to this for antiseptic purposes( but it could leave a lasting yellow tint on the skin for around a day.. so try with turmeric on a holiday)..  Use this instead of soap… You skin would feel as slippery as silk…. 

Have you wanted that extra lustre on your skin?

Tamarinds are  excellent cleansers.. their acidic nature dissolves the hard to go dirt… Curd soothes your skin and the lactic agent is good for pimples and rashes… mix curd and a bit of tamarind… squeeze the tamarind so that the juices mix with the curd…  you can use the remanants of the tamarind as a mini loofah on your skin…

Pampering yourself…

Do you wanna feel like a celeb on the add? Add a few drops of essential oil(lavender,pachouli,jojoba…) to your bath or a handful of bath salts and some scented candles should do the trick….

Caring your face….

The face being the most prominent part should be cared for specially… Splash your face just twice or thrice a day with cold water to close the pores… Dont wash many a times as they might strip your face of its natural oil…  Use wet wipes while outing…  Make sure you cleanse your face once in the morning and night(or astringent for oily skin) and follow it with a home made toner(2drops of lemon juice+ 5drops of chilled rose water) with  a cotton pad( lemon juice is know to reduce the dark spots due to pimples and acnes) … top it with moisturiser…(honey can be used as a mosturising mask too)…

The flash was blinding.. She could feel the festoons float past her… And roses being thrown over her feet…

There was a great deal of pandemonium in the stadium… Someone kept repeating and screaming her name over the microphone…It sounded like,”Samantha…Samantha Das.. A great honour to India… She is one of the….”. She  didn’t find out what she was,as the voice had been cut out by blinding flashes accompanied by furious clickings..

She revolved around and her eyes met with gorgeous women draped in expensive attires.. All behind her..smiling,yet enviously…

She felt a tear slipping down her left cheek and dropped like a pearl on her lip… She reached out to wipe it… Her fingers were stuck with a brilliant red…  like the kinds which could be used to burnish one’s lips…

She looked back.. And finally the flashes settle down. She could now clearly focus on the crowd.. She was taken aback to see half the world in that gathering… She took a step towards them and felt as if she was moving on top of pencils.. She looked down and saw her feet covered with one of those costly emerald studded slippers ,adorning the red carpet..

She lifted her hand and felt her auburn hair… And there it laid.. A glittering and twisted looking crown!! The one she had always wanted to wear and own… She had done it… She is the “MISS UNIVERSE” now!!
